VII. AUXILIARY SERVICES

 A.  MONTGOMERY COUNTY INTERMEDIATE UNIT –
NON-PUBLIC SCHOOL SERVICES DIVISION

The Intermediate Unit runs our largest state-funded program, Act 89, which provides remedial reading, remedial math, guidance and counseling services, speech, and psychological services to a non-public school student in Montgomery County. These services are provided to all OLHC students who have a need in any of these areas.

B. CHAPTER II PROJECT IDEAS

Chapter II, a federal program, provides staff development programs on a regional and/or individual school basis. In addition, a portion of the Chapter II program is used to purchase library books and instructional equipment for non-public school student use.

C. HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION

The Home and School Association of Our Lady Help of Christians School has set as its objective the advancement of Catholic education and the welfare of all school children at OLHC. It strives to enhance the parents’ and teachers’ role in education at OLHC by increasing their mutual understanding of the children and by providing opportunities for parents and teachers to work together for the good of the children. The Association promotes parent-school activities to increase members’ interest in education and civic affairs, and conducts fundraising activities. Members of the Home and School Association can be contacted through the school office.

The Home and School Association has always and continues to play an important role in raising funds to support school programs, equipment, renovations, and educational materials.
